What you see on this website grew out of my intense desire to have my father live on in an artistic way.

What you see on this website grew out of my intense desire to have my father live on in an artistic way.

Although a gifted stonemason, he wasn’t able to realize his full potential as an artist – since his life was fairly chaotic.

And then just when things started to look up for him, fate struck him down, quite out of the blue.

It was then that I first channelled all my grief and anger into sculpture (« Swan song » a Project organised by the Mâcon Town Hall), and then into art classes. I wanted to make sure that he didn’t die in vain, and that the work he started would continue. I didn’t want to replace or imitate him but simply to carry on his work « you can never replace someone, you can simply carry on where they left off »

And then, little by little my own artistic temperament blossomed . And I realized that my father and I were not one and the same artist but two distinct beings. And I developed a personal style, my own style ….. based on working with matter (the source of all life)

N.B. :

This « cat » is the last sketch my father « scribbled » for me. It has become my artistic « signature » and I wear it proudly on my arm.
